Top Gun Maverick was written and directed by Joseph Kosinski and you can find it on Amazon Prime with a subscription or pay $5.99 without one. When it came out in May of 2022, everyone was talking about it. It received over 1.4 billion dollars in box office revenue and earned an 8.3/10 on IMDB. Top Gun Maverick is the sequel to Top Gun, taking place at the most prestigious flight school in the country with only the best of the best pilots attending. Maverick is the main character in both movies. He is being trained in the first Top Gun and is teaching all the younger pilots in the second.

The movie’s plot comes with all sorts of surprises and is sprinkled with some suspense. It’s packed with action and the flying is pulled off very well. Top Gun Maverick has ties to the first movie, making it pull on the heartstrings of many fans.

Top Gun Maverick is enjoyable for most, but there isn’t really a bad guy until the very end of the movie. There were a few holes in the plot that, at some points, didn’t make much sense. Other than that, the movie deserves the credit it’s given.

In an interview with my good friend, Caden, he says, “It was really good. It’s probably my favorite movie now. I would definitely watch it again.”  While interviewing my brother, he said, “I really liked it; it was a lot better than the first one.”

I would rate this movie a 9.5/10 and place it as one of my top 3 favorite movies of all time. I could watch it over and over again without getting bored; ever. I watched it about a year ago and whenever I have the chance to see it again, I take it.
