Volleyball – Huling Bowl

Sylvie Hilgendorf

On October 17, West Seattle High School played Chief Sealth High School for the classic Huling Bowl.

JVC won their first game of the season. They didn’t give up and stayed positive throughout the game

JV also won their first game of the season. They looked calm and collective and played their best. Their game was tense—a true nailbiter. WSHS won the first set; Sealth took the second; and then West fought hard and won the last set. Shoutouts to front row hitters Liv Clem and Mathilde Guajardo, who delivered strong hits and kills. And another shoutout to Avery Dirks, the libero, for keeping the back row strong.

Varsity sadly did not take the win this time, but they never gave up and played hard through the last point. They played all 5 sets and lost in the 5th. Some star plays came from outside and right-side Sadie Miller and libero Kate Fjeld.
