Sydney, Australia is one of the most beautiful places on earth. With its iconic structures, like the Opera House or the Harbor Bridge, to the unique wildlife, many cannot deny that Sydney is truly stunning. While it is a long journey from the United States, the sites to see make the 15 hour plane ride worth it.
It is hard to be bored in Sydney, however if you do find yourself stuck, here are a few ideas on what to fill your time with.
Tour the opera house:
One of the most iconic things in Sydney is the Opera House. The clam shell inspired structure is located in the heart of Sydney, right on the water, with a great view of the harbor bridge. The house offers multiple unique tours of the building, the most common being the architectural one. This tour goes into depth about the structure of the building and explains how the building is fit to best project the volume of the opera singers. Touring the Opera House is great activity to do for any age.
Climbing the harbor bridge:
A more adventurous activity is climbing the harbor bridge. While this does have more limits than the museum (must be at least 8 years old and 1.2 meters tall), it truly is a once in a lifetime experience. Doing this climb gives people an amazing view of the city and the Opera House, really showing the beauty that Sydney holds. Overall, if you want to take the chance to face any fear of heights you may have, then I would highly recommend climbing the bridge.
Visiting the zoo:
Australia is known for having some of the most interesting animals in the world and visiting the Sydney Zoo is a great way to see these creatures up close. Whether you want to be close to a koala or watch the rarest spiders in the world crawl around, there is something for everyone. This is an entertaining activity for kids and adults!
So, when planning your next vacation, consider Australia. No matter who you are, Sydney is guaranteed to have something for you!
